"Also, there is a press release from the Hanso Foundation announcing the relaunch of thehansofoundtation.org web site. It includes a Washington number for a Hanso PR contact, I tried it and it appears to be a cell phone with the option to page the owner. I left a page, will report back if I get any calls." [DocArzt]

Here is the link. Oddly, the press release says that the release date is 5/6, but whatever. In summary it explains that there has been a security breach of the website, but that no one's data has been compromised. It is written by Hugh McIntyre, the Communications Director of Hanso. There is a phone number and email address listed. There is also a secret link at the bottom of the letter than if clicked will sent you to a website. To my knowledge, no one has heard back from trying to contact Mr. McIntyre either by phone or by email.

Ugh...this has been a huge bone of contention recently. I'm going to skip the detail and say that this can be interpreted a variety of ways depending on how you decode it: ASCII, ROT13, or ROT18, or your secret decoder ring.

The text essentially stays the same, but the dates change in each one.

[The following is mainly a walk through of the site. Some things are new, some were parts of the old site. The “Newsletter (Sign up)” is the only page that truly applies to the game at this point. In fact, I may separate out the Hanso walkthrough if things become to complicated, later on]

Just so you know, this site is a huge interactive flash page, not separate web pages (notice your web address never changes). If you right click within the site you have the option to do such things as zoom-in, etc. Don't use the back button on your browser, because that will kick you out of the site altogether.

There appears to be an issue with the music on the site. turn it off by clicking the button on the upper left hand corner. (It appears to NEVER want to stop, even after you close the browser window, if you don't do this. There are definitely a few bugs to work out)

If you notice some of the scribbling around the site, some of it is reminiscent of the drawings in the hatch and those of Aaron's father. Or, it could just be Organgutan scribble.

On the bottom left of the screen on the main page, there is a spot where your curser registers something. If you click on it, it moves the green spotlights in the background from the top and right, to the middle, to the bottom left. I don't know what the purpose of this is, maybe it changes settings on other layers of the website. Any ideas? [thanks Bardo] For people who can't find this, try changing your browser menu to "Full Screen", you can do this under the "View" drop-down menu on your toolbar. Then, click anywhere on the background and start hitting "Tab". This higlights any active links on the page. Keep hitting it until the small square in the lower left lights up. That is your link. Oh, and we still don't know what it does, but [pose] over at the Fuse noticed this: "Would be great to have a Flash expert to check out the site. I noticed a couple of things and think the green circles do mean something. On some of the pages if you extend your window so it's wider than the flash movie you see a big arrow on the side or bottom (make browser window too tall/narrow). It's not on all pages and is in different locations when it does appear."

On the lefthand side of there page there is a link to the .pdf file mentioned earlier that refers to the sight having been compromised. Under the picture of the smoggy cityscape at sunset, there is a caption. There is an error in the caption: "And our our work for a safer environment" [thelostexperience]

Also on the main page, while the TV commercial is loading, you will notice that "the numbers" show up as %s randomly throughout.

Introduction
During the introduction when the woman is explaining the site, she shows a picture (to the lower left) that shows the links you will see when you enter the site. A link for "contact" is listed in this introduction, but is not actually listed with in the site.

Also, several people have noticed that the woman's mouth does not always sync up with the audio. They are wondering if, in some places, she is really saying some other than what we are hearing. No info on this yet.


Newsletter (Sign up)
Once you are in the main screen, Go to the "Newsletter (Sign up)"
It will ask you to make a screen name. Enter [screenname of choice]. Click Next
The frame will change. “Hello [screenname]. Can you see this?” Enter "yes".
Frame change. “Okay, it's me Persephone. What's the password?” Enter "breakingstrain".
The computer, via Persephone, will tell you that you are logged in and to check back for messages. [i don't remember the exact wording]
If you try to log back in, it will tell you that you are "already logged in" and "bye bye" and send you back out.

Joop's Corner
FYI, Joop is labelled as experiment 626. This appears to be a shout-out to the Disney movie, "Lilo & Stitch."

In the introduction on the upper righthand corner, it refers to Chimps, when Joop is obviously an Orangutan [Ubi]

Next to one of Joop's pictures under where it says "Joop's Corner" on the upper left-hand corner of the page, there seems to be a place where you can write. It doesn't seem to do anything at the moment, but it might be worth keeping an eye on it in the future. [ILuv2LOL]

Go to Joop's Corner and click on “Send him a message”.

Watch the Live Web cam. After about a 30 seconds, a shadowy image appears over the picture of Joop. Then as the picture reloads again and again, you can see faces in the pixilated shot of Joop. If you "print screen" you can get a picture of the hidden image.

Here is a great observation: the face that shows up in Joop’s webcam looks an awful lot like the doctor in the “Mental Health Appeal” sections of “Active Projects”

Next, send Joop a message, type anything you want in
It sends you to a screen that looks like a view of something through a microscope. Pairs of white-ringed circles appear in pairs.
If you right-click the circles, it will zoom you in.
Click on each of the circles. Another pair will appear, do the same.
This happens around 4 or 5 times.
Then a red-ringed button appears. Click on that.


The Letters
It takes you to a letter written by Jacques Maillot of the Human Welfare Consortium.
The letter is addressed to the CDC (the Centers for Disease Control) and CC'd to the heads of Hanso
It explains there was an outbread of meningococcal bacteria in Africa with the apes that Hanso has been experimenting on. The Global Welfare Consortium wants a full investigation.
If you click the right spot you get a second letter apologizing for the first and if you notice, the new head of the GWC is a former head of Hanso (Peter Thompson)
Then if you click the red circled name (Peter) you get the following quote: "The Hanso foundation, setting world speed records for subverting authority" [thanks buf]

The Worldwide Wellness and Prevention Development Program
There is a teacher in the photograph to the right. Some people say that it looks like Cindy. Also, there are a series of math problems on the black board. Not sure if it means anything, but numbers have been important in the past.

Go to the worldwide wellness prevention program link, and then go to the press release. Some people think the photograph looks like Jack's father [I however, do not]

Mathematical Forcasting Initiative [thanks timdorr]

In the upper right hand content box of the Mathematical Forecasting Initiative's page, there are quite a few words blocked out. The first is "Zambia" (the Africation nation of...) and I'm working on the rest.

There has been an update to the Mathematical Forecasting Initiative page on the Hanso website. In the bottom right, there is a new picture that says MFI Forecast Map. If you click on it, it takes you to a map of the world, with clickable pictures that give you information about the countries. Also, in the middle of Asia, there is a hidden link that says, written backwards, "She was an employee of the foundation".

Using information from the "CIA World Fact Book" fill in the following blanks:

In the USA, if you click the dollar sign, type 42,000 in the blank and hit enter, it begins to glow blue.
In Italy, if you click the syringe, type in 10.4 in the blank and then hit enter, it also begins to glow blue (and you quickly see a flash of the Dr. from Joop's pic).
In Sudan, click the person, type 2.55 in the blank and hit enter, it too begins to glow blue
A circle appears south of India. If you click that, it takes you to a letter from Peter Thompson, followed by a message from Persephone saying "The Hanso Foundation: Starting wars so you dont have to."



Executive Bios

On the Board of Directors there is a Liddy Wales. She is the only one without a picture and the info is password-protected. Liddy sounds an awful lot like Libby and to show her picture would give quite a lot away..." [thanks tea]

Also, the picture of Alvar Hanso says that it is from October 28, 2003, when it is obviously the same photograph we have seen from the orientation video from 1986. Is this an error, or is there something else going on here??

Mission Statement

The picture with the dove on the left hand side has raised some questions. Is there any significance the the arrangement of the clouds? hidden images? We'll keep an eye on this.

"Breaking Strain"

so as some will already be aware, and many more will no doubt discover this evening, the log-infor the Hanso Newsletter is 'breakingstrain'. Below are some possible connections between this password and the show:

- the first obvious connection is the breaking strain of threads - how much tension they can withstand before snapping...similar to the situation the Losties find themselves in.

- the book Breaking Strain by Paul Preuss, which is described in one Amazon review as being about "Ellen Troy, aka Sparta, was enhanced with biotechnology when she was younger and something happened to her that caused her to forget everything that has happend in the past few years. Troy decides to join the Space Board of Control in order to find out what happened to her. Along the way she has to figure out what caused a hole in a spaceship headed to Venus."

- lastly for the moment, rudyar Kipling's poem/hymn 'Breaking Strain', which deals with Man's relationship with God and Creation.

Did a search on heavy industries and I got tons of Asian manufacturing companies. Most all of them are Korean and Japanese.

Sun's Last Name is Paik. This would seem to indicate that her father is associated with this at some level.

Notes: Discussion thread is here. Decoding ASCII codes reveals a message which has been anagrammed to read "SIGN IN WITH HANSO PR CLUE. 8, not 1 and 6." It is possible that the anagram may not be precisely correct, but this one makes sense, and suggests that the numbers should have had their own version of the substitution code last time (good catch urbandruid). This suggests that we are looking at May 8 to login for this clue, not May 6. The meaning of Hanso PR clue is unclear...perhaps the word 'miracle', since it is clickable in another press release on the site."

Bio Page: Alvar Hanso

click under the biopic on the hanso website (on the date october 28, 2003) and it takes you to a thing that says "notice the graniy far away picture?" click and it says "it doesn't match anyone else" with circles around the date. Click again and you get a map. Remember the Sprite commercial in the phone message? Some changes on the Hanso Foundation site leads us clue seekers to a Sprite ad that ties in to Lost at the website: http://sublymonal.com/ . You have to click the monitors using the Lost numbers, 4 times, 8 times, 15 times, etc... and then it unlocks a message: "code: Heir Apparent" with a link to thehansofoundation.org.

When you go back to thf.org site and click Thomas Mittelwerk's picture in the Executive Bios section. Type in "heir apparent" into the box. Here is what happens:

See a door. A blonde woman (Persephone? Liddy?) stands with her back to us and when you click, she turns around.

Caltech records appear with a shadow. Click the words above the red underline.

To get to the sprite website thingy, you click on the clock on the hanso site when it says "OB:EY". Also, it seems to get the words "obey" to come up for the time that the actual time needs to end in one of the infamous numbers. Ie, if it's 8:42 it will appear, or 12:42 or 12:04 etc.

(update, the very next day 05.09.06 the red/blue boxes were replace with just red that don't seem to say antying behind them)

Clue #30 - Displeasure with BAD TWIN


New letter found on thehansofoundation.org website. Click HERE to see a letter from Hugh McIntyre to Hyperion Books. delete the part after the last / and get the parent directory. The letter is found in the "Paris" folder (along with the newsletter seen in the pennslyvania paper) but there is also an empty (for now) folder for "London"(if you go up another directory.).

Apparently both the Persephone & Bad Twin (click here for a summary)plotlines are revealing corruption and instability in the Hanso Foundation. Clear causes and effects have yet to be clearly articulated. We are left to continue with our best guessing...

Clue #31 - The DJ Dan "Clue"& More

Opinion of this blogger: The blog located at www.insidetheexperience.com is obviously an official ABC blog. It should be referred to often. However, while they will track all legitimate clues, they may also try to throw us off a little if they feel like we are getting too close (ABC has admitted to doing this in the past by posting annoymously in message boards & forums). The powers that be recently embedded the URL www.djdan.am/index.html into the source code of thehansofoundation.org

The DJ Dan website is about conspiracy theory and references Alvar Hanso, the Dharma symbol on the shark (which actually kinda looks like the swan symbol, not the one with just a bar we saw on the original shark), Persephone, and DJ Dan claims to have information that hanso has been cryogenically frozen and is being stored at the Phoenix Hanso Lab.. DJ Dan is anti-Hanso for sure. Looks like the site was created only recently and made to look (and sound) like it has been around awhile and has a huge following. Read it and listen to the podcast. Interesting, but not sure what it really means (if anything). If it is a legit ABC clue, it tells us a lot.

Also, there is a picture of a mapinguari! Last year there was a gag script page that revealed the island monster to be a profane mapinguari! Mapinguari is a giant sloth, basically. The author of the page was thought to have been Javi.

Speaking of Javi, sharp eyed LOST fans were quick to point out that DJDAN is played by LOST Alum Javier Grillo-Marxuach. The hairline is a dead give-away!

a mouse does not rely on just one hole (The "g" actually ends up being a coding error for "s" - Why is Persephone being so tricky?) This phrase may or may not be on the blast door map (The one only Locke got a look at in Season 2). It is also a direct quote from the Roman dramatist, Plautus.

Or maybe not. You must remember the safe-g with the morse code. After much debate, it was determined it was not a mistake, yet the meaning remains unknown. Could the relation between g and s in this mystery be a clue? Or is the fact that a G has turned up out of place twice telling us anything? Stay tuned.

It was noticed that Persephone's numbers (at persephone.thehansofoundation. org ) have changed to read "+1" (as of 5/31/06). Speculation leads to hole3.thehansofoundation.org and we see a broken link to a photo with the file name: t9agen75.gif

Next, someone named Duality "randomized the pallet" and zoomed in on the left eye and it looks like our picture contains the message "Save Me". This is very interesting because last week, someone named Kyle converted the Hole2 picture to audio and sent us THIS LINK and THIS LINK. We thought he was crazy when he told us he thought it said "Save Me".

Persephone has hidden another password. Look through the various job descriptions and write down all the grey letters. They created an anagram that, when solved, spells "inmate asylum". Use this as a password in the Board of Directors section for Vanderfield and/or Peck on the Hanso site. Anything or nothing works for a login name.

This password opens up another classic Persephone hack revealing to us more corruption within the Hanso Foundation...specifically dealing with Vanderfield, Peck, and Thompson. (i'll update this with what actually happens later)


Also, there has been a change in the source code of the Hanso foundation website. The update reads:

There was an update this afternoon in the WWPDP section of thehansofoundation.org. Go there and click on the Press Release in the WWPDP section. Find and click the world "miracle" to bring up a text box requiring a password. The password is "heavy water". Heavy Water was deduced from "D20" which was found hidden under the right eye within the latest picture posted at hole3.thehansofoundation.org. D2O is referencing deutrium oxide, which is more commonly (used very loosely) known as "heavy water".

Talk about missing organs! Read the article and listen to the audio...look closely...lots of interesting stuff.

Clue #50 - Persephone (17) Hole 4 & Mental Health


Persphone's message portal, persephone.thehansofoundation. org was updated with new numbers translating into a new message reading "+1 timeless together" (good find Ubi). Naturally, check for a hole4 and you'll find that there is a new picture up at hole4.thehansofoundation.org. The file name is u8egnce86.gif.

Also, the Mental Health Appeal page has been updated (click RSS at the bottom of the Hanso site to see the update). There is an "Inquire Today" box which leads to another Persephone hack. The password was found and posted over at Inside the Experience. Here is how it was discovered:

The file names for Hole 2, 3, & 4 are: q9als2002,t9agen75, and u8egnce86. Persephone's message, Timeless Together, was understood to be a clue that we should take away the time or the dates from these sequences and then put the rest together. So, if you take away 2002/75/86 from the file names, you are left with "q9alst9agenu8egnce" and if you change the numbers to letters (9=1 and 8=h) you get "qialstiagenuhegnce" which is an anagram for "light sequence again".







By typing that into the box, you'll find a letter related to the Vik Institute and a neat memory game that gives us clues about the "Department of Heuristics and Research Material Applications"....D.H.A.R.M.A.

Play the random Memory Game (it will drive you crazy). I got to like 40 and then my mouse double clicked somewhere but word is that people have gotten to 45 and still seen nothing more than the flashing "DHARMA" stuff


Clue #51 - Persephone (18) Magic Word & DJDan

Go to the Electromagnetic Research Inititative page on the Hanso Foundation site and click the picture. A message from Persephone pops up asking for the magic word. If you look closely, you can also see the faint image of a radio tower in the "early morning" picture. The magic word is "conspiraspies".






Click the word "offshore" and it will link you to DJDan's site.

Oddly enough...everything is inter-connected...There is also a new DJDan podcast up and it points you to Retrievers of Truth. However, on DJDan's site, if you click on the radio tower image on the homepage (the same one that faintly appeared on the ERI page), it will take you to http://www.thehansofoundation.org/swf/extra/spies/ where you will find a static-looking picture which says "conspira" hidden within.

Listen carefully...This is big. After you view this clue, you will be completely barred from the Hanso site (kinda). It looks like, after one watch, they don't want us to be able to go back and view again
